two months

Ava is two months old.

Today she had her two month check up and her first round of shots. They gave her 5 shots! Poor girl. She looked at me with this look of horror and disappointment, I felt so guilty. Good thing she's already forgotten about the ordeal.

Our girl is growing! click here for her one month stats. Here are her two month stats:

weight: 12 lbs, 14 ounces
height: 22 1/2 inches

She's out of the 0-3 month size and some of her 3 month sized clothes are getting tight!

Here are some fun facts about baby Ava:

• she smiles! and it's just about the best thing ever.
• she coos! and it's just about the best thing ever.
• she holds her head up! and it's just about the best thing ever.
• she gets excited to have a bottle. she grunts and kicks her legs. and it's just about the best thing ever.
• she's starting to giggle/laugh. and it's just about the best thing ever.
• she sleeps through the night!!! (7-8 hours) it is just about the BEST thing ever!!

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter with the Medinas. You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day!

Easter was also special because Ava is now 2 months old! Tomorrow she will have her doctor appointment and get her first set of shots (eek!).

disneyland

with my brother's family in town and Gabe on spring break, we were excited to spend a day at Disneyland. Monday was a beautiful (albeit warm...) day at the Mouse House and we had a great time! Ava went on tons of rides: Buzz, Small World, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and the Carousel. However, the only ride she was awake for was Small World... she loved it! At one point during the day, Matthew asked me, "Rachel...? does baby Ava always sleep??"

the next day, some of us made our way back to the Magic Kingdom for some fun at California Adventure. Ava slept through the rides that she went on. The highlight was definitely going on the big roller coaster with Brian (his first time on an upside-down roller coaster).

we had so much fun, but after two days of excitement we were tired and Ava let us know how tired she was with an evening of fussing, screaming, crying, and squirming. FUN.

San Diego Zoo

Saturday, March 31st, we headed down for our first BIG family outing - the San Diego Zoo. I was nervous about taking Ava on such a long car ride and being so far away from home should anything go wrong, but she was great and we had a fun time seeing the animals. We went with all the Johnsons and all the kids had a great time. I forgot my camera, so I only got a few pictures on my phone...
