on the move.

last wednesday 12/5, this baby girl decided she was ready to MOVE. she started by crawling across the room to get to the bedspread hanging off the bed. then she decided she wanted a toy i had.

she's quite pleased with herself.

now it's a constant struggle to keep her still.

yesterday, i gerry-rigged the dog gate as a baby gate to keep her in the family room while i cleared off the table. she escaped it twice! when i finally got it to stay put, she was not happy to be in baby jail.

in the mean time, she is now 10 months old (only 2 more months until her 1st birthday, EEK). a 10 month post will follow after we move to our new house and unpack the bear.

9 months.

sweet baby girl is 9 months old!

She had her 9-month check-up last Friday. She was such a trooper - two shots and not even a flinch. Such a brave girl! here are her official stats:

weight: 21 lbs, 11 oz
height: 27.5 inches

you can compare to her 8 month stats here. obviously, my home-stats last month were a little off.

here are some fun facts:

• twice, she has looked at me when i enter the room and said "ma-ma" 
• frequently, she says "da-da-da" when gabe comes in the room. he doesn't think it counts yet, though...
• she claps
• she waves
• she shakes her head no. 
• she loves to shake her maracas
• she's *this* close to crawling

today, EAK and i took our little leprechaun and four-leaf clover to the 2nd Street Pet Parade. it was crazy crowded, but it was a lot of fun. Ava had so much fun checking out the puppies. Murphy and Ava got a lot of compliments on their corresponding costumes.

On Sunday, we went with Linda and we visited the pumpkin patch. so much fun!

ava was so cute in her little pumpkin outfit.

they had pony rides, but she's too small. but, she did enjoy the petting zoo. every time a goat stuck its head through the fence for some food, she got so excited! kicking her feet and slapping her hands. so funny.

on Tuesday, we made our annual trek to Mickey's Halloween Party. We went last year and the year before. It's so fun!!

8 months

you'll have to excuse Ava's mom, she's a little slow.... 

Ava turned 8 months two Mondays ago. I was able to snap a bear picture of her on the day of, but I didn't get around to the weighing and measuring until today. 

She didn't have a doctor's appointment this month. Next month you'll get official stats. Until then, you'll have to settle for home stats: 

weight: 21 lbs, 6.4 ounces

height: 28 inches

• she's teething... she does pretty well, just clingy and grumpy in the evenings (so far...)
• she loves to sit on the couch. she can properly rule over her kingdom. 
• she's too big for her infant tub... we've started bathing her in the bathtub. she LOVES it. splish-splash! 
• she's a moon-scooter... she scoots backwards on her bum or on her belly. slowly... 
• she loves her exersaucer at gramma linda's. 

she's so amazing. we love her so much.
