laughter.

Ava has the funniest laugh. the other day we were at the Target Pharmacy and she was laughing so hard (for no reason), Gabe could hear her all the way in another section of the store.

Today, she shared with Gabe her love of the Jumbaco commercial...

four months.

Ava is 4 months old!

she had her check-up with the doctor on friday. (fun side note - even with an appointment, they made me wait for nearly an hour and a half to see the doctor. awesome.)

anyways, all is well with this beautiful baby girl. the doctor was impressed with her strength when it comes to sitting up, pulling up, and her little crunches she does when she's on her back. however, the doctor did scold me for not doing enough tummy time with her. we're going to work on that. she also got four more shots. she was very brave this time, but the shots seemed to have more of an effect on her this time too.

weight: 16 lbs, 2 oz

height: 24 in

you can compare her 3 month stats/pics here. (i think our home-measured stats must have been off last month, because i know she's taller now than she was last month.)

here are some fun facts:

she has earrings now... (for those of you who are far behind the times)
she loves to play "airplane" (surely, you can't be serious...)
she HATES tummy time... too bad, we're going to make you do it now!
she has had her first taste of ice cream (courtesy of Grandma Johnson)
she likes to go shopping (and charms the other shoppers too!)
she likes to blow bubbles and make fart noises (so lady-like)
she is growing fast! she's out of 3-6 months, many 6 months are too tight... she's on 6-9, 6-12, or just 9.

our lovely family

the first week of April, we got some family portraits taken with the whole Johnson family. we had Jessica Garthe do the pictures, which was fun because she was the photographer for our wedding and our engagements... now she took our first family portraits too!
