happy crafting.

i've been going on Pinterest a lot lately. i joined last year but found that i would just pin things and then never do anything with them. last few weeks, i've been actually doing the things i have pinned. (yay, me!)

quick christmas craft

i made a quick simple craft the other day...

we had a wreath (fake) that had a simple bow on it. the bow came undone and it looked so sad and lonely...

i also had a handful of extra ornaments that i wasn't going to put on the tree (they're a little cheesy and just not as special as the others)

So - i decided to combine the two. hot glue and 5 minutes later, i had a cute little wreath to display outside.

pumpkin encore

we needed to carve again so that we would have pumpkins out on halloween.

saturday night was spent carving pumpkins and watching The Crazies (very scary!).

works of art - took a while, but they were so worth it!

Pumpkin Carving Party

Last night was the annual Pumpkin Carving Party! It was a great night!

all lit up - volvo, cinderella, starry night, witchy woman, and grimm reaper

they look pretty awesome in the dark!

gabe's grimm reaper

my witchy woman

chelsea's starry night - this was awesome because the stars went all the way around the pumpkin!

katie's cinderella - i was jealous... told her i was going to take credit for it!

seth's volvo pumpkin - completely freehand!

thanks to everyone who came! hope you had fun!

only bad thing, these pumpkins are going to rot before halloween.. so you know gabe and i will have to do this again next weekend! :)

halloween craft time

last saturday, we had Emily over for a craft date. we got these cute kids from Michael's for making a haunted candy house and a graveyard scene. it was a great craft and she had fun putting it together. with the spider stickers she'd say, "i just don't like real spiders. i like these little sticker spiders." i agree!

I didn't get a good picture of her final haunted house, but here is the final graveyard...

after we finished the main craft, we did some stamping and watched Lion King. it was a lovely time with our sweet niece!

choo choo, i like you.

a couple sundays ago, we had Emily over for craft time. we were so excited to do this adorable train craft with her! when we went to the craft store, there were SO many different things to choose from, we were having trouble deciding which would be best. gabe zeroed in on this adorable train. each piece is sold separately (for about $0.50/each) and you can spell out whatever you like.

Gabe was very maticulous about his letter (the Y). in the time he painted one, emily and i painted all the rest!

it was a great craft and we had so much fun working together. the final product is so cute!!!
